Jane H. Christopherson graduated from Marquette University Law School in 2010. She received a Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies with a concentration in Rhetoric and Composition from Arizona State University in 2007. Jane grew up in the Twin Cities, Minnesota and returned to Milwaukee, where she was born, for law school. Jane was the first student hired as a prosecutor from the Marquette University Law School clinical program at the Milwaukee District Attorney’s Office during her third year of law school. Prior to that, Jane interned in the HIDTA/Drug Unit of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office over the summer after her second year, working on wiretap investigations and drug conspiracy cases. Jane worked as a judicial intern in the Milwaukee County Circuit Court over her first summer after starting law school and interned with the Wisconsin Attorney General’s Office handling property disputes and civil rights claims from the prison system during her second year of law school.
Jane has professional accolades from 2025 Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers Rising Stars 2020, and two Hanson Memorial Advocates Awards for homicide acquittals in 2016 and 2018. Multiple acquittals Jane secured for her clients facing charges for homicide; felony sexual assault; armed robbery; and other serious felonies. Several constitutional challenges raised by Jane have resulted in dismissals, reduction of charges, and other beneficial outcomes in cases faced by her clients. Jane practices law in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and across southeastern Wisconsin. Her practice is built on tireless hard work upon which Jane has earned several professional references from courts and colleagues for her skills as a trial lawyer.
