If you slip and fall, there is a chance that you might get seriously hurt. It is normal for people who slip and fall to end up hitting their heads. Some people try to catch themselves and break their arms. In other circumstances, there could be risks of lacerations, burns or other significant injuries. Here at Levine Law , we know slip-and-fall accidents can happen almost anywhere, but there are some places where they're more likely. For instance, if you go to an ice-skating rink, then there is a likelihood that you will fall and potentially hurt yourself. Will the facility be responsible? Will anyone be responsible? It's possible, but it depends on the circumstances. Take, for example, a person who buys new ice skates. They typically need to be sharpened before the first use, so that they will glide on the ice. If they are not sharpened, they will continue to catch on the ice and cause the person to fall, potentially causing a serious wound. While most professionals know that they need to sharpen their skates, not all casual skaters do. If the salesperson doesn't tell you or there are no warnings, then there is a potential for suing if you are hurt when you fall. With no warnings and no one telling you that they're dangerous in that form, you'd have no reason to suspect that you couldn't immediately take the skates onto the ice. This is just one example of how a slip-and-fall accident could be another person's fault. If it is, then you may be able to seek compensation for your injuries.
